And so much the better, because we&#8217;ve all suffered from anxiety, depression or some other mental disorder.  <\/span><strong>It&#8217;s important to take care of yourself!  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But did you know that it&#8217;s possible <\/span><strong>to combine physical and mental health? <\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sport has enormous benefits for our psyche. <\/span>I&#8217;m going to explain the various benefits of physical activity on your mental health and give you <strong>some tips<\/strong> on how to make sport part of your daily routine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>So are you ready to be as healthy as you can be, both physically and mentally? Let&#8217;s go!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Links between mental health and sport<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/samysart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Bienfaits-sport-sante-mentale-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"sport and mental health\" class=\"wp-image-5147\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Regular physical activity not only strengthens your muscles and improves your physical condition, it also has <strong>a positive impact on your mental health<\/strong>. Get ready to find out how to move your body and see how much it can really do for your mind!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Physical activity to reduce stress and anxiety<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regular physical activity is a real ally in reducing<\/span><strong> stress and anxiety.<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Scientific studies have shown that exercise stimulates the production <\/span><strong>of endorphins,<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> brain chemicals that act as <\/span><strong>natural analgesics <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and provide a feeling of well-being. Exercise also helps <\/span><strong>to reduce levels of cortisol,<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a hormone associated with stress.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We are the fruit of an explosive cocktail of hormones, and by getting to know them, we can control them and thus be the masters of our own happiness.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sport to improve mood and self-esteem<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exercising will increase your <\/span><strong>serotonin<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This hormone is involved in a variety of physiological processes, but its influence<\/span><strong>  on mood<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  is particularly remarkable. What&#8217;s more, it allows you to establish greater harmony between your body and your mind, which contributes to<strong> a positive self-image.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Less stressed, in a good mood and with a good self-image, sport still has surprises in store for you\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Exercise also boosts concentration and productivity<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Endorphins<\/strong> also increase blood flow and oxygen supply to your brain, improving your concentration and cognitive abilities. What&#8217;s more, you now know that sport helps to reduce stress and anxiety, <strong>factors that can affect your concentration.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thanks to sport, you can not only feel a clear improvement in your mental life, but you can also fight against or avoid a serious mental illness that affects more people than you think.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sport to prevent depression<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to preventing and combating depression, <strong>sport can play an important role<\/strong>. Because of everything you&#8217;ve just learned about the role of <strong>serotonin<\/strong>, <strong>dopamine<\/strong> and <strong>endorphins<\/strong>, sport regulates your hormones to improve your emotional state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sporting activity can also improve <\/span><strong>quality of sleep,<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  as well as reducing stress and anxiety. Lastly, sport promotes<\/span> <strong>socialization and belonging to a group,<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which can have a positive impact on self-esteem and general feelings of happiness and satisfaction.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All these factors are extremely helpful in combating or avoiding depression.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Of course, if you think you&#8217;re suffering from depression or generalized anxiety, you absolutely must consult a mental health specialist.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Make sport part of your daily routine<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/samysart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/sport-sante-mentale-au-quotidien-1-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5152\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now that you know all the natural benefits of physical activity on your mind, I&#8217;m going to give you some<\/span><strong> tips<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to welcome sport into your life.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Choose a sport you enjoy<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To keep sport from becoming a chore, you have to enjoy it!  <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Think about what motivates you and what you enjoy, and choose your sport accordingly!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you prefer a sport that connects you to your inner self? <\/span><strong>Choose yoga or <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/samysart.com\/en\/10-beginner-exercises-to-get-you-started-in-pilates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Pilates!<\/strong> <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you like teamwork? <\/span><strong>Maybe basketball or soccer are for you!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you feel like a fish in water? <\/span><strong>Take up swimming!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There&#8217;s such a wide range of sports that there&#8217;s at least one that&#8217;s right for you, so don&#8217;t hesitate to try out several before taking the plunge for good.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rigor and organization<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To reap the mental and physical benefits of sport, you need to be <strong>rigorous<\/strong>, with regular training sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you do sport in a club or with a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/samysart.com\/en\/what-makes-a-good-sports-coach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>coach<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, it will take care of itself, but if you exercise <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/samysart.com\/en\/home-sports-training-7-tips\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>alone at home<\/strong><\/a>, <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">you&#8217;ll need to be rigorous and <\/span><strong>organized.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To sum up, the benefits of sport for mental health <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are extremely numerous. Physical activity stimulates and positively regulates our hormones, for an overall feeling of well-being.
